NEUBIAS Questionnaire (UK): do you use or develop bioimage analysis for life sciences research?

NEUBIAS (Network of European BioImage Analysts) is a new initiative designed to link and develop BioImage Analyst training and careers, and to improve and further extend image analysis techniques within the life sciences:

We are writing this as the UK representatives in the NEUBIAS Management Committee.

We are compiling a list of UK academics in, or associated with, the life sciences who are are involved in developing bioimage analysis tools and/or benefit from some kind of bioimage analysis in their work. This list will help us to define the extent of the UK bioimage analysis community, and to co-ordinate UK NEUBIAS activities. For example, there will be plenty of opportunities for individuals to be involved through joining workgroups (contributing to the deliverables of the scheme), or attending workshops, conferences and taggathons, or hosting bioimage analysts within labs for knowledge exchange purposes and/or short projects. Although this questionnaire is only for UK members right now we expect it to be closely replicated by other member countries shortly.

We want to hear from you if you are one of the following:

  • A scientist who applies image analysis tools in their work, but does not necessarily develop new image analysis techniques.
  • A researcher who develops image analysis techniques, but for whom it is not the main focus of their work.
  • An individual who directly develops or researches image analysis techniques within the life sciences (e.g. Image analysts, or quantitative bioimage analysts).
  • A computer vision scientist, mathematician or physicist, or other specialist who is interested in, or actively participating in, research related to image analysis being applied within the life sciences.
